Lionel Messi has received plaudits from fans for his gesture during Barcelona's 3-0 win away at Eibar.

The 32-year-old was one-on-one with the goalkeeper but decided to pass to Luis Suarez who was arriving to score into an empty net.

And Barcelona faithfuls have gone on social media to heap praises on the selfless captain who made the Uruguayan score the club's third goal.

Messi had time and space to slot the ball past Marko Dmitrovic but decided to give the pass to Suarez who had not registered his name on the scoresheet.

Antoine Griezmann had put his side ahead in the 13th minute before Messi doubled the advantage in the 58th and Suarez finished the game off six minute after the hour mark.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Lionel Messi has revealed that there are some people in Barcelona that do not want Neymar to return to the club.

It is understood Paris Saint-Germian and Barcelona have met regarding the Brazilian's return to Spain in January after both clubs failed to reach an agreement last summer.
