If we get infrastructure right, Nigerians will mind their business - Buhari

- President Buhari said one of the top priorities of his government is infrastructural development

- According to the president, Nigerians are entrepreneurial and energetic and will mind their business if his government gets the infrastructure right

- Buhari added that many Nigerians will not even care who is in government if there is an adequate infrastructural development

President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria as a country destined to prosper as it is full of citizens with "entrepreneurial energy and potential".

Buhari said this in a thread of tweets posted on Friday, October 18 via his personal handle, @MBuhari.

The president said that building infrastructure is one of his administration's top priorities just as he noted that many Nigerians "will mind their business" and "will not even care who is in government" if his government gets the infrastructure right.

"This is why Infrastructure will continue to be one of our primary focus areas. We must & will rewrite the story, for this dear country of ours. I wish we had even more resources, and we are working on this, but we are doing our best within the resources currently available to us," the president said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Senate called on the federal government to declare a state of emergency on federal roads across the country.

The Senate made the request on Tuesday, October 15, following a motion raised by Senator Gershom Bassey.

Bassey, who is the lawmaker representing Cross River South senatorial district at the upper chamber, decried the deplorable state of federal roads in Nigeria.

The lawmaker also claimed that the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) has failed to remit the five percent user charge of fuel pump price to the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), as stipulated in the Act for the rehabilitation of federal roads.
