Lionel Messi’s presentation of his sixth Golden shoe had his two sons Matteo and Thiago seemed tussling to present their father the award.

Messi was presented with the award which goes to the top league scorer across Europe’s top tiers.

The Argentine maestro, who netted 36 times for Barcelona in La Liga last term, typically went to collect his award alongside his two sons – Matteo and Thiago who sweetly stole the whole show.

A video clip showed the two boys keenly anticipating their father’s prize.

Matteo in particular was overly anxious and throughout the presentation he was staring at the glistening golden shoe with admiration.

Once he handed the award over, Matteo could be seen licking his lips in admiration, sparking some hilarious reactions from football and Messi fans who witnessed the cute incident.

This was Messi’s sixth Golden shoe, and the latest win means no player has won the award more times than the 32-year old.

Furthermore, Messi has been the one to clinch the award in the past three seasons, with team mate Luis Suarez being the previous winner of the award as far back as the 2015/2016 season.
