Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra has sympathised with victims of the petrol tanker explosion that claimed lives and destroyed properties in Onitsha, the state capital on Wednesday, October 16.
Obiano said that the state government is willing and ready to compensate owners of properties damaged by the inferno, Channels TV reports.
He sent his heartfelt wishes and prayers for the departed souls of a woman and child who died in the tragedy, adding that the bereaved family will be assisted for their burials.
The governor also informed such persons come on Monday, October 21, to the conference room of the secretary to the state government for discussion on how they can be helped.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a tanker explosion on Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Friday, August 30, claimed not less than five lives.
The inferno also led to serious injuries for 10 persons apart from destroying about 19 vehicles and 35 shops.
