Iheanacho is yet to make an appearance for Leicester City in the Premier League this season under Brendan Rodgers.

He only managed to feature for the Foxes against Luton Town in the third round of the League Cup in the 2019-20 campaign

And he could only manage 16 appearances from 84 matches since joining the King Power outfit from Manchester City in 2017.

This resulted into the 23-year-old missing out in Gernot Rohr’s 23-man’s squad to AFCON 2019 in the past summer.

Iheanacho also missed Nigeria’s recent friendlies against Ukraine and Brazil as the likes of Victor Osimhen, Bonaventure Dennis and Peter Olayinka were preferred.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Brazil vs Nigeria ended in a 1-1 draw but Kelechi Iheanacho was not part of the 23-man squad invited by Gernot Rohr for the friendly.

The Leicester City striker has been frozen out of the national team after failing to pin-down a place in Brendan Rodgers' side.
