Governor Udom Emmanuel has said Akwa Ibom is one of the safest states in Nigeria.
The governor stated this on Tuesday, October 15 when he played host to foreign defense attachés serving in Nigeria.
The delegation alongside the staff of the Defense Intelligence Agency are on a cultural visit to Akwa Ibom state.
Governor Emmanuel said that the rich culture of the Akwa Ibom people and cuisine, as well as hospitality, is an additional flip to boost tourism and investment in the state.
He told the delegation that there are plans by his administration to implement safe city infrastructure to aid in crime detection and control, making Akwa Ibom one of the safest states in the country.
He also used the opportunity to encourage collaboration among countries in the fight against insurgency, cybercrime and other challenges suffered by countries globally.
The governor thanked the National intelligence Agency for facilitating the visit and encouraged the foreign attachés to explore areas of bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile, Governor Emmanuel has said his administration is committed to achieving 24 hours electricity supply for every household in the state by the end of the year 2021.
Speaking at a media briefing recently, the governor emphasised his government's commitment to improving electricity supply as part of a deliberate plan to enhance the ease of doing business in the state.
