Kogi guber poll: 45 political parties endorse Bello

- A coalition of 45 political parties has endorsed Governor Yahaya Bello for a second term in office

- The coalition gave its endorsement in a press conference on Wednesday, October 16

- The coalition, which describes Bello's first term as successful, says the governor is justified enough to seek re-election for another four years

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has been endorsed for a second term bid by 45 political parties ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election in the state.

Legit.ng gathers that the parties, under the aegis of coalition of 45 political parties, gave their endorsement in a press conference on Wednesday, October 16.

The press conference was addressed by the chairman of the coalition, Alhaji Sanni Teidi, at the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) press centre, Lokoja.

The parties said they objectively analysed all parties and their candidates and came to the conclusion that Governor Bello was head and shoulders above the rest.

Describing Bello's first term as successful, the parties said the governor is justified enough to seek re-election for another four years

According to the coalition, aside from the visible indices of development which have been witnessed, the governor has also done well in eliminating ethnic, religious and class differences among the people of the state.

The coalition said that the governor’s quest for re-election was also an avenue to ensure equity in the seat of power for other districts in the state, particularly the Central District who was occupying the seat for the first time.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Senator Dino Melaye said Kogi state may seize to exist by the time Governor Yahaya Bello completes his second term in office if the people of the state allow him.

Melaye, who represents Kogi West at the Senate, was said to have made the declaration in Kabba, Kogi state.

Melaye also used the opportunity to donate the sum of N7 million to the seven local government areas in the senatorial district.
