Leaked video: Aisha Buhari tenders apology

President Muhammadu Buhari's wife, Aisha Buhari, has apologised to her family members and well-meaning Nigerians over the embarrassment that the leaked video that went viral had caused.

Mrs Buhari tendered her apology on Wednesday, October 16, while receiving first ladies from states on solidarity visit to the presidential villa.

The Nation reports that the president's wife also expressed her resolve during the meeting to construct a regional secretariat for the African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM).

Legit.ng recalls that in the video, Mrs Buhari was seen in angry mood with the Mamman Daura family over their alleged refusal to pack out of Glass house in the villa.

According to a statement by the first lady's director of information, Suleiman Haruna, Mrs Buhari has successfully secured 2.7 hectares of land in Abuja for the construction of the secretariat.

The statement read: “I have successfully secured 2.7 hectares of land in Abuja for this purpose and the foundation laying will soon be conducted in the presence of African first ladies.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the recent release of a video by Mamman Daura’s daughter, Fatima, was faulted by a presidency source on Monday, October 14.

Released in the wake of rumours stating that President Muhammadu Buhari was going to take a second wife, the video showed part of the body of the president’s wife, Aisha, as she was shouting on the need for the Dauras to leave an accommodation in the villa.

A source within the presidency, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the video was shot over a year ago when Yusuf, the president’s son, had a power bike accident in Abuja.

The source said President Buhari had approved the order for the Dauras to vacate the accommodation, as it was needed for the then recuperating Yusuf.
