The operatives of the Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) averted a tragedy on Tuesday, October 15 when they rescued a middle-aged man, Desmond Abraham, who wanted to kill himself by jumping into Lagos Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge.

Abraham, 44, who was rescued alive by the LASWA units, blamed economic frustration and family issues for his suicidal attempt.

The emergency agency has since directed that Abraham should undergo rehabilitation under the welfare unit of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
