Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa have disassociated themselves from a sponsored press conference organised against the embattled senator, Elisha Abbo, by his detractors in the state.

The supporters, who are stakeholders of the PDP in the Mubi local government area of the state, in a statement made available to Legit.ng said that they were deceived by organisers of the conference who at first told them that the gathering was for the judgment of an election petition tribunal.

Distancing themselves from the intent and organisers of the conference, the stakeholder said that they cannot be a part of a move made against Senator Abbo.

They said that they cannot belong to a party or group that only seeks to undo the senator and discredit him.

The PDP supporters said: ”That we cannot identify with any arrangement that is predicated on lies and deception, which planning and arrangement we were not a part of.

“That the fellows spearheading this charade are in fact members of other political parties as such they cannot be stakeholders in PDP."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the senator had promised Nigerian youths that he would not fail them.

Abbo made the promise as he hosted the parliament for League of African Development Students (LEADS).
