Governors stealing government money need deliverance - Nasarawa governor

- The governor of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule, has said that governors who steal public money need God's deliverance

- Sule added that there is no reason for the actions the elected governors have all the provisions that they need

- The governor also said that the popular belief that money as the requirement in politics is not true

The governor of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule, has said that any elected governor has no reason why they should dip their hands into public purse and steal funds.

Governor Sule made this known during the closing ceremony of the 23rd National Quranic Recitation Competition organized by the Jamaatul Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) in the state, Daily Trust reports.

The governor said that elected governor caught stealing governor’s finds really need deliverance from God, adding that governors have all they need and it is only an evil that who plundering state’s resources.

“When I assumed office as governor, I realized that only those who have no true knowledge about God could steal or those whose major preoccupation is to steal public funds,” he said.

At the occasion, the governor also called on the elites to participate in politics as a way to bring sanity into the terrain.

Governor Sule also threw away the notion that to participate in politics one has to be rich, advising the scholars to duly elect those who would not take them for granted.

He finally told the scholars that they should telling people the core truths even if that would make people reject them.
