David Lyon, the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s candidate for the November 16 Bayelsa gubernatorial election, has boasted that the party will soon take over the government of the state.
Lyon made this remark as he boasted that the the APC will defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state by landslide victory in the forthcoming election, The Nation reports.
He went on to say that Governor Dickson Seriake should concern himself with paying civil servants and pensioners, instead of claiming that the APC has no footing in Bayelsa.
Even more, the APC candidate said that Seriake should apply caution in his dealing since, according to Lyon, he will leave the seat soon for the party, so that he can be granted political asylum.
He described the governor as the Biblical Goliath and Nebuchadnezzar who has refused to listen and adhere to the voice of God.
Lyon said: "We are appealing to Dickson to thread with caution, because he will soon hand over to the APC government so that we can give him political asylum as he will soon be in the ranks of a former governor.
“Governor Dickson today is a replica of Nebuchadnezzar and Goliath of the Bible who refused to listen to the voice of God.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that ahead of the governorship election in the state, the APC has called for reconciliation among all aggrieved stakeholders.
The call was made by the south-south chapter of the Young Stakeholders Forum (YSF) in the party.
