The first lady, Aisha Buhari has returned to Nigeria following her three months away from the country in the UK.
The first lady arrived on Sunday, October 13 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 4.30am via a British Airways flight.
This was confirmed by Suleiman Haruna who is the director of information to First Lady of Nigeria.
Aisha who spoke on her arrival said she was happy to be home after a well-deserved rest.
She confirmed that “she was fully rejuvenated to continue the work of improving the health and well-being of women, children and other vulnerable Nigerians.”
The first lady thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, her members of family and well-wishers for their support and encouragement.
Wives of present and former governors and associates were at the airport to receive the first lady.
Meanwhile, during her absence, the Nigerian social media space was awash with a viral claim that President Buhari was set to marry a second wife.
The purveyors of the claim attributed it to undisclosed sources from the presidency. They further claimed that the purported marriage ceremony would take place on Friday, October 11, after the Jumat (Friday prayer) services.
But the claims have been dismissed Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity.
