The Cross River state governor, Ben Ayade, is now a student of the University of Calabar after enrolling for a Masters Degree (LLM) in the institution’s Faculty of Law.
The governor attended lectures on Thursday, October 10 for over four hours and did assignments like other students, Daily Trust reports.
Legit.ng gathers that Ayade began his primary education at St. Stephens Primary School, Obudu and proceeded to Government Secondary School, Obudu for his secondary education.
The governor subsequently enrolled at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma where he obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) in Microbiology in 1988.
Ayade would then move on to the University of Ibadan between 1990 – 1994 where he obtained his Ph.D., winning the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award in Environmental Microbiology.
Despite becoming a professor at a very young age, the governor refused to stop learning, going further to earn a law degree. He subsequently proceeded to Law School where he was called to the Nigeria Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
One of Ayade’s current lecturers is a former member of the state House of Assembly who has since returned to the classroom, Jake Otu Enya.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Ben Ayade donated N1million and other gift items to a prison inmate who gave birth to twins.
Ayade, who was represented by the commissioner for health, Dr Inyang Asibong, gave the gifts to the management of the General Hospital Calabar for the upkeep of the prisoner.
