- The Belgian footballer was reacting to Man United current's lackluster performance this season

- He stated that Jose Mourinho should have been given more time at Old Trafford

Former Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has made it clear that the Premier League side made a mistake sacking Jose Mourinho last year.

Mourinho was shown the exit doors at Old Trafford in December 2018 due to poor performance and also bust-ups with some players like Paul Pogba.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer however stepped in initially on interim capacity before Red Devils' chief confirmed him as new gaffer after impressive Champions League win over PSG.

But Manchester United have a slow start this season in all competitions as they have failed to score in their last two games, losing on both occasions.

Marouane Fellaini who left Manchester United in January for a move to the Chinese Super League stated emphatically that the Old Trafford chiefs lack the experience.

“They brought in one of the best managers in the world in Jose Mourinho, he wanted to build a team and they sacked him. It’s not easy to build a team in that time, you need more than two years.

“I don’t know what they will do with this manager (Solskjaer)) but, for me, to win things and to improve, you need time.

''That’s the problem with the coach and the direction, they have to find a solution together,'' Fellaini said according to the report on UK Mirror.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Jean Michel Aulas who is the president of French club Lyon claimed that Jose Mourinho has already chosen the club where he will manage next.

Jose Mourinho has been out of coaching since the Portuguese was sacked at Manchester United in December 2018, but he has been doing punditry job since then.
