Eghe Ogbemudia, the daughter of the late military governor of former Bendel state, Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, has been suspended as the head of the Egor local government area of Edo.
Governor Godwin Obaseki's suspension of Eghe came after series of petitions were written against her, The Nation reports.
According to a source, Eghe ran the council as its sole administrator without appointing supervisory councilors.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Obaseki had suspended the local government chairman of Esan West, Patrick Aguinede.
This was revealed on Wednesday, October 9, by Monday Osaigbovo, the state's commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs.
Aguinende's suspension came after he was accused by some persons of diverting state's fund under his control.
Osaigbovo said that Aguinede will remain suspended for two months to enable proper investigations into the allegations against him.
