Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named Premier League player of the month of September.

The Gabonese forward scored five goals in four EPL matches in the month under review to help the Gunners stay unbeaten in the process.

He is however the third highest goals scorer after Tammy Abraham and Sergio Aguero after eight round of matches.

Aubameyang scored once in his side's 2-2 draw against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on the first day of the ninth month.

He went further to score brace against stubborn Watford in the game that ended 2-2, after which he inspired Arsenal to 3-2 win over Aston Villa.

And then capped off the month with another goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the last day of the same month.

The former Borussia Dortmund forward beats Alexander-Arnold, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, John McGinn, Ricardo Pereira, Son Heung-min and Callum Wilson to the prize.

Aubameyang has now picked his second Premier League player of the month award after clinching the September edition of the award - his first coming in October 2018.

Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp clinched his second consecutive Premier League manager of the month.

The German born tactician beats competition from Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard and Brendan Rodgers to win the award.

Klopp guided his side to 3-1 win over Newcastle United in their first game of the month and then beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge a week later.

They wrapped up the month with a 1-0 win over Sheffield United as they are eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
