Iran vs Cambodia: Women attend football match as Team Melli win 14-0

Iran vs Cambodia ended in a 14-0 win in favour of Team Melli in a 2022 World Cup qualifier played at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.

The match marked a historic feat in Iran as women were in attendance for the first time in 40 years to see their team wash away Cambodia with 14 unreplied goals.

Women have been banned from watching football matches since the Islamic revolution in 1979.

But after much pressure form FIFA and women rights organizations, 3,00 tickets were reserved for women to attend the World Cup qualifier.

Sardar Azmoun netted a first half hat-trick as Ahmed Nourollahi, Hossein Kanaani, Mehdi Taremi, and Karim Ansarifard scored one each before half time. Azmoun scored three more goals in the second to take his tally to six in the match.

Taremi and Mohammad Mohebi completed their brace as Mehrdad Mohammadi completed the goal-feast as it ended 14-0.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Errol Spencer Jr on Thursday, October 10, was involved in a terrible car crash that landed the boxing welterweight champion in the hospital.

It is understood that the American boxer was driving at full speed and was believed not to have used his seat belt as he crashed his Ferrari in Dallas.
