Many societies are used to having an all-male leading team. It is only in recent times that efforts are made to include women in the power dynamics and there are attempts to balance the gender gap as regards leadership roles.

However, Trinity College, a higher institution in Dublin, Ireland has stamped itself on the pages of history as it has elected and installed its first all-female student's union lead team. The young ladies names and positions are;

  1. Shaz Oye, president of graduate students’ union
  2. Gisèle Scanlon, vice-president of the graduate students’ union
  3. Laura Beston, president of Trinity students’ union
  4. Niamh McCay, education officer
  5. Aisling Leen, welfare and equality officer
  6. Muireann Kane, communications and marketing officer and
  7. Judith Robinson, entertainment officer.

Adenuga in her post stated that the future is female and it starts now. She also made mention of the fact that just over a century ago, Trinity College admitted its first female student and now it's leaping bounds and giving women a chance to thrive in leadership roles in the university's community.

Adenuga also advised that the time is now for women to step up and take over. She reiterated that any young lady hoping to secure a leadership position should go on with it as there is no better time than now.

Meanwhile, a young Nigerian lady, Ahmed Tawakalt Adeola, emerged the first students' union president of Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Ogun a short while back.

Adeola walked her way to victory having defeated her male challengers in a keenly contested students' union election, breaking a long standing 31-year-old jinx.
