Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-rufai, says he would investigate allegations that Kaduna state university employed a lecturer who was once sacked for harassing a female student.
The governor disclosed this in response to an allegation raised by a Twitter user identified as Enigma on the social media platform.
According to El Rufai, the commissioner of education and attorney-general of Kaduna state will jointly commence investigation immediately. He also disclosed that the deputy governor will monitor to case.
The tweet by Enigma read: "A.B.U sacked A.B Umar because of sexforgrades...A school that’s 70k away employed him to keep sleeping and preying on little and vulnerable girls .
"How can you employ an abuser under academic environment knowing his past record. Kaduna state university employ him."
The governor thanked Enigma for drawing the government's attention to it.
Meanwhile recall that Legit.ng had listed some names of lecturers caught harassing students in their institutions.
Legit.ng had also reported that the affected lecturers now have all the time to themselves to reflect on what many, including Aisha Buhari, Nigeria's first lady, have condemned in different ways.
