A study was conducted in the country's capital, Abuja and 44 per cent of supporters chose the Reds to win their first title in over two decades.
Some 18 per cent selected defending champions Man City to repeat last season's glory while 17 per cent rallied behind Frank Lampard's youthful side Chelsea as potential winners.
In the last five years, Nigerians have only got it right once in their predictions about who would win the English topflight league.

And that was in the 2014-15 season where Chelsea won the title but in the 2013/2014, 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and the 2017/2018 campaigns, Nigerians have guessed wrongly.
So it remains uncertain if Liverpool would finally lift the trophy despite establishing an eight-point gap ahead of City.
But in terms of team's followership, the Blues have the highest number of fans with 34 per cent of them holding their support for the west London club.
Manchester United faithfuls are ranked second with 30 percent votes while Arsenal are third with 23 per cent respondents.
Interestingly, female fans following the Premier League rose to 25 percent but the men still have the greater support with 62 per cent.
