US fighter jet crashes in Germany, pilot survives

- The pilot, however, survived the crash and was immediately taken to the hospital

The United States military says an F-16 fighter jet has crashed in Germany, Washington Post reports.

The pilot, however, reportedly survived and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The newspaper reports that the police said the jet crashed in the Zemmer area, between the city of Trier and the US Air Force’s Spangdahlem Air Base.

Angela Watson, Base spokesperson, reportedly confirmed the incident, adding that it happened around 3pm on Tuesday, October 8.

The spokesperson also confirmed that the pilot was safe but said details concerning the cause of the accident were not yet available.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a long-time personal guard of Saudi Araba King Salman, Major-General Abdulaziz al-Fagham, was recently shot dead during a personal dispute.

Abdulaziz al-Fagham was killed in the Red Sea port of Jeddah, the place the government relocated to for the summer period.

The bodyguard was reportedly shot and killed when he was visiting his friend’s home.
