Stating that she was a devoted Christian who did her best to study hard during her school years, Ibim said, the harassment from the lecturer caused her two-years of her education and a change of degree and faculty.

Highlighting why the world should desist for making cases against the victim of sexual harassments rather than the perpetrators, Ibim who was a former commissioner of information in Rivers state said children are regularly abused by trusted individuals.

Condemning comments emanating from the BBC Africa's #SexForGrades report that those who fail in examinations are weak, Ibim said such remarks are heartbreaking.

She said: "Why must we always find a reason to blame the victim as if the pain and humiliation are not enough?”
