- Senator Buruji Kashamu commended the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari
- Kashamu who was the PDP governorship candidate in Ogun state in the 2019 general elections said Buhari is doing well in terms of infrastructural projects
- The PDP chieftain also praised Buhari’s anti-corruption fight, urging all Nigerians to support the president
Senator Buruji Kashamu has showered praise on President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the president has good intentions for Nigeria.
Kashamu was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state in the 2019 general elections.
The PDP chieftain, therefore, urged Nigerians to support the president, particularly in his efforts to address the country’s infrastructural challenges, Daily Trust reports.
The former senator reiterated that the works the Buhari administration is doing on the airports renovations, road construction and others indicate that he means well for the country.
He also expressed delight on the administration’s support for local government autonomy just as he accused state governors of depriving local governments their statutory allocations.
Kashamu noted that he had promised during his gubernatorial campaign that, if elected, he was not going to hijack government funds.
Speaking on the anti-corruption fight, Kashamu also rated President Buhari well and urged all Nigerians to support him.
He said the Buhari administration has exposed the extravagance of the past and the need to do away with it.
“Now, we must work and live within our means. Let’s not just preach, let’s practise what we preach. We can earn a decent living by identifying and taking on opportunities around us. Before now, many Nigerians see political office as an opportunity to become billionaires,” Kashamu said.
He also clarified that he had not abandoned the PDP.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the minister of state for labour and employment, Festus Keyamo, said job creation and youth employment are part of the top priorities of the Buhari-led administration.
Keyamo stated this when he played host to the Pan African Youth Union led by Niyi Oladele John.
According to the minister, the problem of insecurity is all over Africa and the situation could be heightened by youths who are not gainfully employed.
