Dara Oladosu: Young Nigerian created Quoted Replies for twitter, makes history

- Dara Oladosu, a Lagos based app developer, has created a Twitter bot called Quoted Replies as a way of giving users a good experience

- With the bot, users of the platform can easily access quoted responses to a tweet on twitter in an easy way

- The popularity of the bot has also gone up as it now has an app and Google Chrome extension to increase accessibility

A Nigerian with the name, Dara Oladosu, has contributed greatly to humanity with his latest technological innovation called Quoted Replies.

Quoted Replies is a bot made for twitter that allows users on the micro messaging site to find quoted comments on tweets without having to go through the hassle of searching the platform.

The bot is a big advancement on the ‘retweet with comment’ feature that the social media platform introduced some years ago which allows user to quote a tweet with their comment.

What differentiate that feature from commenting directly under a tweet is that the user's followers can easily see the person’s comment and what it is directed at, unlike if the comment were under the said tweet.

According to Techpoint Africa, the bot was built by the Nigerian in December 2018 when he discovered that tweet’s link could be used to search twitter for quoted replies.

The same media also report that the software developer built a Chrome add-on to help twitter users maximize the function of the bot more.

According to some of the users of the bot, Hamza Fetuga and Abdulhafeez Sagaya, also mobile app developers, the bot has been quite helpful.

However, with the strict stance twitter has against bots, some of the replies links the bot generated were always banned and users could not access them.

Dara was able to fix that around July 2019. The developer said bot has over 26,000 and 60,000 mentions for September.

To make use of the app and find the replies under it, all that is needed is to reply the tweet with the bot handle, @QuotedReplies.

There are mobile apps for the bot too, which according to the Nigerian developer, has really been doing well.
