David Luiz opened his Arsenal goal account in their 1-0 victory over stubborn Bournemouth in Sunday's Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazilian scored the only goal of the game through a superb header in the ninth minute after connecting with a Nicolas Pepe's precise corner from the right flank.

His goal came barely two months after joining the Europa league finalists from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Coach Unai Emery's men have however stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions to eight games since the first of September.

It would be recalled that the last time the north Londoners suffered a defeat was when they suffered 3-1 loss to Liverool at Anfield.

Arsenal scored from their only shot on target in the match having started the game on a bright note with loads of pressure on the visitors.

The Cherries tried equalising in the 18th minute but Dominic Solanke's headers failed to find the right target as they continued their search for goals.

Meanwhile, in a quick counter attacking move, Pepe missed a chance to double his side's lead inn the 19th minute.

The Gunners created more chances in the game but their inability to bury those chances saw them finish the game with just one goal separating both sides after regulation period.

Following their slim win over Bournemouth, Arsenal have now moved to third on the EPL table with 15 points - one behind Manchester City who suffered 2-0 defeat to Wolves at the Etihad.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Eden Hazard scores first Real Madrid goal in their 4-2 win over Granada in Saturday's La Liga clash.

The Belgian who joined Los Blancos from Chelsea this summer also assisted Luka Modric's stunning goal in the game.

He will now hope to continue from where he stopped this weekend as the season progresses at the Spanish club.
