Wayne Rooney, Man United legend, has revealed the Premier League club with the best potential to be crowned winners ahead of the second international break of the season.
Man City are the defending champions of the Premier League after beating Liverpool to the title by a point last campaign, but the Reds now lead City by eight points at the top of the log.
Based on performances so far, the former Man United forward Rooney is tipping old rivals Liverpool, to cart home the league silverware this term ahead of City.
"In my opinion, Liverpool look the strongest," the Mirror quoted Rooney as saying during an interview with IFL TV, cited by HITC .
"City are a fantastic team.
"I think Liverpool have improved on last year, whereas City have stayed at that level of great consistency, so I think Liverpool."
At the last count, the Jurgen Klopp's side have not dropped point this campaign, with Liverpool still unbeaten in their opening eight games of the season.
