APC governor makes stunning revelation, says he monitors teachers through iPad, laptop

As the world celebrated the teachers' day on Saturday, October 5, the governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, made a revelation about the teaching staff in his state.
Daily Trust reports that the governor said he has a gadget to monitor if the teachers in the state are in the class or not during the school hours.
Legit.ng gathered that Obaseki noted that he monitors them through his iPad or laptop.
“I can tell from my office today when a teacher is in class. If a teacher is not in class, then the teacher hasn’t signed into the database,” he explained.
The governor also won the 2019 best performing governor award for education reforms and innovations by the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT).
The award was presented to the governor by the minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, at the World Teachers’ day celebration in Abuja.
The minister urged Obaseki to continue with the good work of repositioning education in the state.
Commenting after he received the award, the governor said the award was in recognition of education reforms in the state which, according to him, dwells on driving quality learning through technology, teachers and students’ motivation.
He said Nigeria’s developmental challenges stemmed from poor education which his administration has set out to address.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Obaseki declared that nothing would stop his second term in office.
