Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji’s hard work seems to have paid off seeing as she is gradually representing the Nigerian film industry on the world stage.
Just recently, Genevieve made the news after it was reported that her movie Lionheart was selected by the Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) for consideration at the 2020 Oscars under the International Feature Film category.
The news met with widespread jubilation among some Nigerians and even foreigners. Hollywood actress, Kerry Washington, also congratulated Genevieve on the great feat in a post shared on Twitter.
Kerry explained that the achievement is a glorious one and she took things a step further by inviting Genevieve for a lunch date. The message was written in Igbo language.

In other news, Legit.ng reported that after the news of Lionheart making it for Oscars consideration, some Nigerians on social media compared it with another blockbuster movie by Kemi Adetiba titled King of Boys.
While some Nigerians are of the opinion that Lionheart is an overhyped movie, others disagree.
Some other Nigerians also compared King of Boys to Lionheart as they feel the former should have more recognition and international appeal because according to them, it perfectly mirrored the Nigerian society.
