Chelsea duo of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have been handed a call-up to the English national team.

Both stars were instrumental to the Blues 2-1 victory over Lille in Wednesday's Champions League clash.

Abraham scored one of his side's goal while Tomori made the assist for the goal and was massive at the back for the Premier League outfit.

However, the two players have a chance to make their competitive debut for Gareth Southgate's side, who battle Czech Republic and Bulgaria in 2020 European qualifiers this weekend.

So far this season, the former Bristol City striker has scored eight goals in nine appearances for the Blues in all competition.

And their invitation to the Three Lions' squad has ended the Nigeria Football Federation's chase for the players to commit their international future to the Super Eagles.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to the news about Tammy and Tomori's invitation to the English national team.

One said: "NFF lost to England as Tammy Abraham and Tomori decided to play for their senior national team. Blame it on system."

Apart from Nigeria and England, Tomori could also play for Canada but all that seem over having being called up into the English team.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr revealed that Chelsea duo of Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham are not in his current plan.

The Blues stars of Nigerian descent are currently having a swell time in their Premier League debut this season.

Former Bristol City forward Abraham is currently second joint EPL leading goal scorer alongside Aubameyang with seven goals, as they are both behind Sergio Aguero who has eight goals.
