Delta govt to spend over N381million on 2018/2019 bursary scheme

Delta state government has approved the total sum of N381million for its 2018/2019 bursary scheme for indigent students in higher institutions across the country.

This was revealed by the state commissioner of information, Charles Aniagwu, on Wednesday, October 2.

Aniagwu was speaking to Delta state-based reporters who after the state executive council meeting held at Government House, Asaba.

According to him, the state government approved that over 17,000 students benefit from financial assistance out of 24,000 who applied.

On other matters, he disclosed that the council approved the reorganization of the ministry of oil and gas with the creation of an additional six departments for effectiveness.

Governor Okowa recently announced automatic employment for 14 Deltans, who he said, had distinguished themselves in their service to the people.
