Evangelical warfare used by North America - Group says as it commends Army

- A faith-based group has commended the Nigerian Army for the recent spiritual seminar for soldiers

- The group said the Nigerian Army is doing well by seeking strategic means to ending Boko Haram terrorism in the northeast region of Nigeria

- According to the group, the concept of spirituality was first utilised by the North Americans in the form of evangelical warfare prayer in the 1980s

A faith-based organisation has appreciated the Nigerian Army and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buarati, for seeking strategic means to ending Boko Haram terrorism in the northeast region of Nigeria.

The National Inter-Faith and Religious Organisation for Peace (NIFROP) also commended the Army for engaging in spiritual warfare seminar to bring an end to the disturbing ideologies of the terrorists' group.

The leadership of NIFROP said many Nigerians are not aware that the practice of spiritual warfare is not new on battlefields.

The group said the concept was utilized by the North Americans in the form of evangelical warfare prayer since the 1980s.

A statement by the secretary-general of NIFROP, Reverend (Dr) Elijah Akuh, called for due commendation for the Nigerian Army and its leadership over such move.

Akuh said the essence of the conference was to properly educate troops and arm them against such ideologies that have been used in the past to infiltrate and break the ranks of any fighting force.

He also noted that some invisible or unseen forces are real and that these forces, both angelic and demonic, that are actively working around humans.

He further called on the general public to always support the Nigerian Military and its troops in all their efforts to end terrorisms, kidnapping and other forms of criminality across the country.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Buratai had revealed why Boko Haram terrorists cannot be defeated by warfare alone.
