Charles Soludo: I was asked to reject Buhari’s appointment ‘because there’s no money in it’

- The former CBN governor said that one of his friends advised him to reject the president's appointment into the economic advisory council
- Soludo said that the friend's reason was that the appointment does not come with much financial goodies
Charles Soludo, one of the members of the economic advisory council inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari, has relayed a major recipe for discouragement he experienced when he first got his appointment.
Soludo, who is a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday, October 1, said that one of his friends advised him to reject President Buhari's appointment because it has no much promise of monetary incentive, The Cable reports.
He said: “When I was named as member of the economic advisory council, a friend called me, spoke in Igbo: Leave their job for them.
"I asked why, he said ‘but there’s no money there now, just a committee… that’s how we reason in Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that some Nigerians on Tuesday, September 17, took to their twitter pages to comment on the appointment of Soludo by President Buhari.

Legit.ng gathered that the special adviser of media and publicity to the president, Femi Adesina, in a statement on Monday, September 16, named Soludo and seven others as members of Buhari's Economic Advisory Council (EAC).
It was gathered that there have been mixed reactions among Nigerians over the inclusion of Soludo's name and other economic experts in the team.
