Arsenal came from one goal down to rescue a point at Old Trafford following their 1-1 draw against Manchester United in Monday night Premier League clash.

Scott McTominay opened scoring for the Red Devils on the stroke of half time with a stunning long range shot at the edge of the box.

The 22-year-old received a casual pass from Marcus Rashford and immediately decided to shoot with the Gunners defenders clustering his vision.

Ole Gunnaer Solsjaer had fielded injury returnees Rashford and Paul Pogba in the game but they could not manage to win.

Unai Emery on the other hand ringed two changes to the team that played Aston Villa, with Maitland-Niles and Ceballos making way for Calum Chambers and Lucas Torreira.

However, the changes helped them avoid their second defeat of the season as Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang restored parity for the visitors with Bukayo Saka claiming assist for the game.

In the early minutes of the game, Rashford was presented with a glorious chance to score the first goal but the fumbled on the ball allowing Sokratis back to defend.

Arsenal also made a few attempts which forced David De Gea into a double saves, after which the host got the first of the night in the 45th minute.

Neither side could find a winner in the remaining minutes of the clash, thereby settling for a 1-1 draw.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Arsenal have been handed a boost with French striker Alexandre Lacazette edging closer to full fitness for the club.

The 28-year-old France international has been out of action since the FIFA break earlier this month after picking up an ankle injury.

He last featured for the north Londoners in their 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on September 2.
