Kogi election: Myetti Allah will not save you - Wada's group tells Bello

- The PDP's campaign council in Kogi state has welcomed the endorsement of Yahaya Bello by the Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association

- The council also warned the governor that the endorsement will not save him from losing at the polls in November

- According to the council, it wished the Kogi state chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria remains apolitical

The expanded campaign council of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi state and the Musa Wasa campaign organisation on Monday, September 30, said that the endorsement of Governor Yahaya Bello by the Kogi state chapter of the Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association will not help the governor.

The group welcoming the development said the people of Kogi state are trueblood and that the state is not an annexe of the ancestral homeland of the cattle breeders association.

A statement by the spokesperson for the PDP2019 - Wada/Aro Campaign Council, Austin Okai, said the endorsement of Governor Bello by the association is a welcome development.

Okai said for the sake of history and posterity, the council fully acknowledges the cattle breeders association as a trade group that has a lot counting in its favour.

The council said that the association also comes along with issues which are of great concern to the good people of Kogi state.

Okai stating the council wished the Kogi state chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria remains apolitical but in consideration of the reality it is clear some elements in the group have chosen to be meddlesome.

He said: "Notice is hereby conveyed to the All Progressives Congress that eligible voters in Kogi state are predominantly the youth, men and women of Kogi state."

"The council wishes to remind the ruling party that to the unbowed youth of Kogi State, the mention of Miyetti Allah is a sad and painful reminder of the unprovoked and brutal destruction of lives and properties in Agatu in neighbouring Benue state and Ogani - Enugu, Kogi state in 2018," Okai said.

He added that: "We finally remind the All Progressives Congress that to the irrepressible women of Kogi State, the mention of Miyetti Allah has so far remained a disrespectful reminder of the mass killings, rapings and arson that was visited on the people of Nimbo in neighbouring Enugu state in 2018."

Calling on the people of Kogi to remain resolute in their quest for good governance, Okai said Kogites must constantly remind one another that the state will never be allowed to be a testing ground where the first modern-day conquest by the back door will take place in Nigeria.

"The council urges Kogites of goodwill to show maturity and refuse to be provoked by the reckless disposition of foreign elements who while trading as leaders of the Miyetti Allah have no value to offer Kogites."

"Kogites are finally assured that the incoming PDP government of Engr. Musa Wada has worked out defined strategies which will confer on Kogites as well as visitors and investors all necessary aid and privileges that will support them in their individual growth and business aspirations," Okai concluded.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the PDP had warned against the use of violence the forthcoming Kogi state governorship election.

The opposition party said any attempt by the ruling party or the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be resisted.
