APC is in casualty ward In Bayelsa state - Dickson

- Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has cleared the air concerning the rumour of his close relationship with leaders of the APC

- The governor said that Bayelsa is a the state capital of rumour as there was no such thing as parley with people of the opposition party

- Dickson also added that the PDP not facing an post-primaries crisis, adding that it is the other party that is in casualty ward

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has doused the fear that he has been parleying with leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in preparation of the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa state.

In an interview The Sun, the governor commented on his relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari and Chief Timipre Salva, the leader of APC in the state.

Dickson said that those defecting in the state are doing so because they are chasing their own economic gain and not because of any political difference.

When asked to clarify the allegation that the political crisis in his party are being sponsored by external forces, the governor denied any crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said if there is any party that is battling with post primary crisis, he said it is the APC as they are in the casualty ward in the state.

First of all, there is no post-primary crisis rocking PDP. If there is any party that is suffering from acute, incurable post-primary crisis, it is APC.

“They are in the casualty ward. Yes with the kind of primaries that we did, the personalities that it attracted, which speaks to the attraction of our party. You can imagine all the big names coming to show and they fought very hard,” he said.

When he was asked to clarify the rumors that he has been having some for of relationship with APC leaders, he said that Bayelsa is the headquarters of rumor while clarifying the matter.

“Bayelsa is the headquarters of rumour, Bayelsa politicians do not believe in superior performance and superior logic.

“My background is that of someone who has done a lot of national politics. I rose from state chairman of AD to national legal adviser, I have played a lot of politics with prominent people and a lot of them are now at the other side.

“We are still friends, but we disagree politically. If I interact with a governor of another party to discuss common issues they shout,” he said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the governor said he has not anointed any aspirant to succeed him for the ticket of the PDP ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial polls.
