Zulum unveils job portal for 2million applicants in Borno

- The Borno state government has developed and launched a job portal for two million applicants

- The portal was unveiled by Babagana Mustapha, the commissioner of the ministry of science, technology and innovation

- The portal is aimed to generate a database that will accommodate educational and professional skills from residents in the state for employment

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno has launched jobs portal for up to two million unemployed persons in the state.

The portal was unveiled on Tuesday, September 24, in Maiduguri, the state's capital by Babagana Mustapha, the commissioner of the ministry of science, technology and innovation, Daily Trust reports.

Mustapha explained that the portal is dedicated to generating a database that will accommodate educational and professional skills from residents in the state citizens in order to garner potentials for employment at all levels.

On his part, the governor called on the technology ministry to liaise with the ministries of education and information to improve internet access for applicants in the state.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the government of Kebbi, on Monday, September 23, announced the commencement of the new N30,000 minimum wage to workers in the state.

Legit.ng gathered that the payment of the new wage would commence in September 2019, as stated by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Babale Yauri, who spoke in Birnin-Kebbi, capital of the state.

“This is in line with the signing of the new minimum wage legislation by President Muhammadu Buhari and in cognisance of Kebbi government’s commitment to workers welfare.

“Governor Atiku Bagudu, has graciously approved for the immediate payment of minimum wage of N30,000 to the state civil servants with effect from September 2019,” the SSG announced.
