Top music producer, Don Jazzy, has condemned the spending of National Assembly legislators. He accused the lawmakers of spending on 'inessentials'.

In a recent post shared on his Twitter page, the musical guru questioned why the legislators have so many aides and why they have to be on the government's payroll?

In his post, the music producer also said the ill-spending was the reason why no Nigerian University is among the top 10 graduate schools in Africa. He added that Nigeria's claim to being the giant of Africa is just by mouth and there is nothing to prove that the country is working.

Jazzy's tweet garnered a lot of reactions with a lot of Nigerians agreeing that some budgetary allocations of the National Assembly reflect misplaced priorities.

Meanwhile, the Senate has reacted to the public outcry over its plan to buy Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) for senators at the cost of N5.5 billion, saying it is an insult to the upper chamber.

The Senate majority leader, Abdullahi Yahaya representing Kebbi North, made this known in an interview with journalists in Abuja, Nigerian Tribune reports.

He said that the status of the Senate befits the purchase of the vehicles, as it is not something they could not have.
