US recognises Angel Adelaja, farmer who grows crops without soil

- The United State has honoured Angel Adelaja, a farmer who depends on less soil to produce fresh fruits and vegetables

- Adelaja's kind of farming is a tool that helps people without access to land get food for survival

- The farming system also uses less water but produces more than the traditional way of growing crops

The United States has honoured another Nigerian, who is doing something really great in the agricultural sector. She is the owner of Fresh Direct Nigeria, a company that is very concerned with the production of food produce.

The wonderful thing about what she does is that she does a kind of farming that is known as hydroponics, a crop growing system that does not need soil.

Another thing is that though the farming does not use the kind of water the traditional type uses, it produces 15 times more than normal farming.

Since the inception of the company in 2014, Adelaja has been helping communities without land access.

She returned to Nigeria from America with the aim of contributing to the nutrition-consciousness of Nigerians.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the US honoured another Nigerian, Gift Udoh, a farmer who reflected the great potentials the country holds.

Udoh is also a 2019 Mandela Washington fellow and the owner of Norinafarms, a company that focuses on the production of chemical-free vegetables in a way that ensures that there is a continuous availability of fresh vegetables.

Her strong passion for healthy food inspired her vision to go into training rural farmers, youths, and women how to grow vegetables devoid of harmful chemicals.
