FG to build 2,500 housing units in Bauchi - Governor Muhammed

- The federal government will fund the construction of 2500 housing units in Bauchi state

- The plan is worth N15 billion, according to senior special assistant to Bauchi state governor on media, Muktar Mohammed Gidado

- The project would also provide qualitative and affordable accommodation to people

Relieve will soon come the way of people with housing challenges in Bauchi as the federal government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Finance has concluded plans to fund the construction of 2500 housing unit worth N15 billion in the state.

Bauchi state governor, quoted Governor Bala Muhammed, in reaction, says his administration will key into the project as part of efforts to address housing deficit in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the senior special assistant to the state governor on media Muktar Mohammed Gidado, Daily Trust reports.

He disclosed this during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Friends Home Fund, the company handling the construction project.

Going further, the governor said that the housing unit would be constructed with a modern school, hospital, mosque and church as well as other basic facilities.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola, alleged that there was a demand of N10 billion compensation before work can continue on the 2nd Niger bridge.

According to the minister, huge demands have led to uncompleted projects across the country. Going further, Fashola said they are trying to resuscitate some of the uncompleted projects.
