RSS arrests 7 suspected cultists in Lagos

- Operatives of the RSS have arrested 7 suspected cultists in Lagos

- The state commander of RSS, DCP Tunji Disu, led the team that arrested the cultists on Sunday, September 22

- Normalcy was later restored to the area by the police

The Lagos state police command has arrested seven suspected cult members in Itire area of the state.

Legit.ng reports that this was disclosed on Sunday, September 22, on the official Facebook page of Lagos RSS.

The police said the RRS commander, DCP, Tunji Disu, led the team that restored normalcy to the area after a cult clash that started from a drinking joint situated at Oseni street in Itire of the state.

The statement read: "The Commander RRS, DCP Tunji Disu, this morning led the police team that restored normalcy to a cult clash that started from a drinking joint situated at Oseni street, Itire, Lagos.

"7 suspected cultists have been arrested. The area is calm at the moment. RRS men and officers from Itire division are currently in the area to forestall further break down of law and order. Also on ground is the Commander, Area D, ACP Aliko Dankoli and some other senior police officers."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that officers of the RRS on Saturday, August 31, gave much-needed assistance to a motorist whose vehicle ran out of petrol on a Lagos highway.

It was reported that DCP Tunji Disu and some personnel of the squad assisted him with a few litres to enable him get to the nearest fuel station.
