The performance saw the Pep Guardiola tutored-side record their highest win in the English topflight.
City wasted no time taking the lead after David Silva finished off a decent cross from Kevin de Bruyne after one minute of action.

The hosts were handed an advantage to net their second after Riyad Mahrez was fouled by Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Sergio Aguero took responsibility as he netted City’s second goal from the penalty spot.
Mahrez netted City’s third goal off a free-kick before Bernardo Silva added the fourth goal three minutes after.
And with 20 minutes on the clock, defending champions scored their fifth goal through Nicolas Otamedi from Sergio Aguero’s assist, a result that saw City go into the break with a 5-0 lead.
After the restart, the home side continued from where they left off, with Bernardo Silva netting his brace from close range courtesy of an assist by David Silva.

On the 60th minute mark, Silva completed his hat-trick from another close-range finish, off another assist by Kevin de Bruyne.
And on the 85th minute, De Bruyne netted the eighth goal of the match with a stunning strike, to see City claim their highest win in the Premier League.
