Another Nigerian has been honoured in the academic field for her immense achievement. Zahrah Ibrahim, a PhD student at the School of Engineering, became the winner of the inaugural European Drilling Engineering Association (DEA(e) Innovation award.

According to the information posted on the school’s facebook's page, the award also comes with a whopping €5,000 (about N2 million) cash prize with paid travel and accommodation.

It should be noted that Zahrah's presentation had very impressive high score in all three categories of the award’s criteria of innovation, relevance and impact to the industry.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Ngozi Okpara, a member of the faculty of the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, won the best research paper award in, Madrid, Spain.

Okpara won the award at the International Association of Media and Communication Research Ethics of Society and Ethics of Communication Working Group, Madrid 2019 conference.

The event was held between Sunday, July 7, and Thursday, July 11, at the School of Communication of the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.

The theme of the conference was tagged “Communication, Technology, and Human Dignity: Disputed Rights, Contested Truths”.

Okpara’s paper was titled Role of Ethics in the Reconstruction of Emotional Aspects of Computer-mediated Communication in Family Relationships in Lagos, Nigeria. Okpara is the head of mass media and writing department, School of Media and Communication.
