Xenophobia: Emotional moment Nigerian children victims from South Africa arrive with parents (photos)
- Some Nigerian children returned from South Africa to Nigeria following the xenophobic attack in the country
- The children returned alongside their parents on Wednesday, September 18
- The children and their parents arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at about 7.14 pm
Following a series of xenophobic attacks on African national especially Nigerians in South Africa, the federal government in collaboration with the management of Air Peace airlines have evacuated citizens from the country.
On Tuesday, September 17, the first batch of returnees arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
The returnees were received by the chairman and chief and executive officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema and the chairman of Nigerians in diaspora commission, Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
Also two days later, the second batch of the returnees arrived Nigeria in the company of their children at the Lagos Airport.
The returnees - 319 in total - arrived Lagos, Nigeria at about 7.14 pm on Wednesday, September 18.
Legit.ng previously reported that the journalists were not allowed entrance into the cargo area of the airport where the returnees were being transported through.
Also, Onyema who was honoured by members of the House of Representatives said he extended the gesture to help evacuate the returnees free of charge because of humanity.
