Bande reacts to his new role as president of the 74th session of UNGA

Professor Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, president of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), has promised to carry everyone along as he resumes his position officially.

The new UNGA president stated this in a tweet on Monday, September 16.

He saod he was honoured and humbled to take up his new role as president of the 74th session of the UNGA and pledged to continue working to ensure that “we don't leave anyone behind.”

He also stated that he looked forward to “striving together, delivering for all.”

Meanwhile, Mohamed Yahya, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s resident representative in Nigeria, recently presented his credentials to Geoffrey Onyeama, the country’s foreign minister.

He said that he listens to much of Nigerian music and has read so much of the country’s literature.
