Kogi, Bayelsa elections: APC, others will suffer serious defeat - PDP declares

Ahead of the governorship election holding in Kogi and Bayelsa states on Saturday, November 16, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that it would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other parties that contest the elections.

Daily Trust reports that the PDP's national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 17, that the party has begun reconciling its aggrieved members following the aftermath of its governorship primaries in Kogi and Bayelsa states.

Legit.ng gathered that Ologbondiyan also noted that the party is strengthening its grassroots structures to win the governorship elections in both states.

He said the members and supporters of the party have nothing to fear as reconciliatory efforts in the two states were yielding the needed results.

The PDP added that it has already galvanized all segments of the voting population across the two states, adding that no shenanigan by the APC could stop its coast to victory in the elections.

“The PDP assures that it is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that all aggrieved members are appeased so that our party faces the elections as a family.

“The party commends the understanding and the spirit of sportsmanship being exhibited by critical stakeholders in the two states as well as their commitment towards the success of the party at the elections,” the party said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kogi, James Apam, on Tuesday, September 17, expressed worries over possible violence during the November 16, governorship election in the state.
