Some Yoruba youths have commended the judiciary over the outcome of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal judgement on Wednesday, September 11.
The youths under the aegis of Progressive Yoruba Youth Congress (PYYC), also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for strengthening the Judiciary.
In a statement signed by the president of the group, Kola Salawu, the PYYC said the judicial arm has become more independent, fearless and corruption-free unlike ages past.
Salawu said the era of the procurement of judgments in the judiciary has been replaced with the delivering of free, fair, and credible judgments that can stand the test of time in the annals of the country.
He also urged Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliations, to support the president to achieve more.
"The Progressive Yoruba Youth Congress have followed the events in the country with particular emphasis on the Judiciary and how it has dispensed justice in the nation, states that indeed the Judiciary been on the side of the masses in its judgments," Salawu said.
He said the judiciary has displayed a commitment to contributing its quota to the growth and development of Nigeria by shunning acts of corruption and other acts inimical to the growth and development of Nigeria.
The group also urged the newly elected cabinet members to be mindful of the fact that one of the strong points of this administration are integrity and patriotism.
Salawu said the cabinet members must understand that there would be consequences for their actions as ministers and heads of various agencies.
He said: "The Progressive Yoruba Youths Congress at this point charges all well-meaning Nigerians to extend their support to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari irrespective of political affiliations in the quest to make Nigeria great again."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Uche Nwosu, the gubernatorial candidate for the Action Alliance (AA) party have warned Atiku Abubakar against challenging the judgement of the tribunal.
Nwosu urged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) and the opposition party to concede defeat to President Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
