Senator Dino Melaye has rejected the appointment of the Peoples Democratic Party as director-general of the party’s campaign council for the Kogi governorship election.
Kola Ologbondiyan who is the publicity secretary of the party had announced that Melaye had been appointed as director-general of the party’s campaign council for the Kogi governorship election.
The senator in a post on his social media page on Friday, September 13 wished the party well.
He however said he has rejected the appointment hinting that this has to do with the outcome of the party’s primary election.
Meanwhile, the newly elected gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for the November governorship election in Kogi state, Musa Wada, said that his victory in the party's primaries held in Lokoja is a victory for all aspirants who participated in the process.
Wada also applauded the maturity exhibited by his co-contestants during the primaries and their spirit of sportsmanship after his emergence as candidate of the party.

In a statement released on Saturday, September 7, Wada said his victory at the primaries would not have been possible if not for the cooperation of his fellow aspirants who played according to the rules and ensured it ended a success.
Wada said: "It is normal that in every contest, a winner must emerge; but in this case, nobody is a winner because as far as I am concerned, we all won. It is a collective victory."
