- Jose Mourinho believes Man City and Liverpool's dominance is subject to their club structures
- The Citizens claimed the Premier League title for the second time last campaign
- Mourinho said that the clubs support their managers
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says Liverpool and Manchester City boast of robust structures which is unrivaled in England.
Pep Guardiola's men narrowly edged the Merseyside outfit to win the Premier League title with 98 points - one point better than the Reds last season.
The two clubs have renewed their rivalries once again this season as they are both maintaining top two positions on the EPL table.
Liverpool are topping the table with 12 points after four matches while City have 10 points from the same number of matches.
The Mirror however reports that the Portuguese said the set-up of both clubs behind the scenes means that they are head and shoulders above their English rivals.
“I think the structure of the clubs,“he told The Telegraph .
"When you look at City, for example: the owner, Ferran Soriano [chief executive], Txiki Begiristain [director of football], Pep Guardiola, Pep’s staff and then the players.
"This looks like harmony, empathy, chemistry, quality, sharing the same project, sharing the same ideas.
"Liverpool? I also think that Jurgen [Klopp] is in a good position. He is very stable. I think he has control of his ‘areas’. He is supported by people who think the same way, the structure of the club.
“Ok, Pep: fantastic coach. Jurgen: fantastic coach. I think if tomorrow one of them leaves and another top coach comes - of course he has to be top like they are - the team will still be there [at that level]. I think performance is globality. I think basically it is that.”

Liverpool, who sit two points above City, will look to retain their winning start to the new campaign when they welcome Newcastle to Anfield this Saturday night.
Reigning champions City, meanwhile, travel to Carrow Road to face promoted Norwich, who are currently second from bottom in the top flight.
Legit.ng earlier reported that former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given his honest opinion on the rationale that made Chilean football star Alexis Sanchez flop at Old Trafford.
Alexis Sanchez joined Manchester United from Arsenal in a big move in which the expectation of all football fans was for the ex Barcelona man to impress, but he struggled.
Last season in the Premier League, many Manchester United fans questioned the signing of Alexis Sanchez on social media and they kicked against him returning to the club after the season.
