- Following their defeat at the presidential election petition tribunal, Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been advised not to appeal the case

- The advice was given by Uche Nwosu, the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in Imo state in the last general elections

- Nwosu said that Atiku and the PDP should allow President Buhari to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians

Uche Nwosu, the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the last general elections in Imo, has called on Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to do away with its plan to appeal their case at the Supreme Court.

Uche said that Atiku and the PDP should concede their defeat at the presidential election petition tribunal, adding that it would be a wasted effort to appeal the verdict, The Nation reports.

He said: “If I were to advise, I would say the PDP and its presidential candidate should not go to Supreme Court because there is a judgment you see and you just let go and support the President so that Nigeria will move forward.

The AA's governorship candidate added that the tribunal's ruling is a reflection of the fact that President Buhari won the election as he is not a politician that believes in rigging.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the PDP had sent a strong message to Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, following his statement after the opposition party and his candidate lost to President Muhammadu Buhari at the tribunal.

In a statement on Thursday, September 12, by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party warned the information minister to be cautious in celebrating the tribunal victory, adding that the “gloating” of those celebrating the verdict would be short-lived.
